FREDERIKSBERG VILLA, Cristina Vising

In Frederiksberg, Cristina Vising turned a neglected villa into a beautiful family home. Curated down to the very last detail, the goal was to give the home a fresh, modern face while still retaining its century-old charm.

It took two years for interior designer Cristina Vising to renovate her Copenhagen home. Originally built in 1900, the Frederiksberg villa was in dire need of a refresh and some tender loving care. Fast forward a couple of years, and the result is a light, bright Scandinavian home with plenty of personality and exclusive touches.

A design afficionado, Cristina was involved in every step of the decision-making – from the electricity and floorplan down to designing the chimney. She added timeless details such as herringbone floors and custom-made stucco, while styling the space with bright pops of colour and a fusion of vintage, designer and custom-made furniture.

In the entrance foyer, Arne Jacobsen’s Swan™ chair sits pretty alongside Poul Kjærholm’s PK31™ sofa. A design classic, the Swan contains no straight lines, making it look organic and soft despite its simplicity and strong architectural appeal. The PK31 sofa adds an element of luxury and comfort to the space.

In the dining room, the iconic Series 7™ chairs by Arne Jacobsen complement a stunning teak dining table, elevating the space with a contemporary flair. The chair, pictured in light beige, is made from 9 layers of pressure moulded veneer with chrome legs and is the most popular design within Fritz Hansen’s chair collection.
